Data partners
The institutions ZIX draws on. Listed as sourcing relationships, not as endorsements — none of these bodies has approved, reviewed or funded anything on this platform.
Live integration
Sources ZIX pulls from programmatically, refreshed automatically.
World Bank — World Development Indicators
Live APIPrimary source for internationally comparable macro series. WDI figures for Zimbabwe are compiled from national accounts supplied by ZIMSTAT and the RBZ, so they inherit those bodies' limitations; the World Bank's contribution is consistency of method across countries and years, not independent measurement. Series are pulled live from the WDI API and carry the vintage the API reports.
data.worldbank.org/country/zimbabwe ↗International Monetary Fund — World Economic Outlook database
Live APIPulled live from the IMF DataMapper API. The IMF is the only source publishing several series for Zimbabwe at all — general government debt and the fiscal balance among them — and where it overlaps with the World Bank the two sometimes disagree sharply, as on consumer prices from 2022. IMF staff figures reflect staff judgement rather than national submissions alone. World Economic Outlook projections are excluded from this platform; only actual years are published.
www.imf.org/en/Countries/ZWE ↗Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe
Live APISource for monetary policy decisions, official exchange rates, reserve money and remittance inflows. The RBZ is both the publisher of the official rate and a participant in the market that rate describes; ZIX therefore treats official FX data as a policy statement as much as a measurement, and pairs it with market readings wherever a verifiable one exists.
www.rbz.co.zw/ ↗Referenced sources
Cited in analysis and used for context. Not yet integrated as automated feeds.
ZIMSTAT
GovernmentThe official statistical authority and the origin of most national accounts and CPI data. Methodology for the CPI has changed repeatedly with the currency regime — including suspensions of the year-on-year series — so ZIMSTAT inflation is not continuously comparable across breaks. ZIX marks those breaks rather than splicing across them.
www.zimstat.co.zw/ ↗ZIDA
GovernmentSource for licensed and approved investment projects. Approval values are announced intentions, not committed or disbursed capital, and historically a large share has not converted. ZIX reports approvals and realised FDI as separate series and never as one number.
www.zidainvest.com/ ↗CZI
Industry bodySource for the annual Manufacturing Sector Survey, including capacity utilisation. Survey-based and self-reported by member firms, so it skews toward formal, larger manufacturers and away from the informal sector. Valuable as a directional read from inside industry; not a census.
czi.co.zw/ ↗ZSE
Market operatorSource for listed market capitalisation, turnover and index levels. Local-currency index moves in a high-inflation regime largely track the currency rather than real value, so ZSE series are shown in USD terms or alongside the exchange rate, never as a bare local-currency percentage.
www.zse.co.zw/ ↗InvestIQ
Market operatorSource for daily closing prices on the ZSE and VFEX. The sheet arrives by email as a PDF and is read automatically, with fixed rules rather than AI, because a model reading a price sheet invents plausible figures. Nothing is published until four checks pass: the email authenticates as coming from InvestIQ's own domain; every row matches a security ZIX has verified independently, so identifiers are never taken from the sheet; each row's previous close, change and percentage agree with each other; and no price moves implausibly against the last session ZIX published. A sheet that fails any check is held for a person to review. A broker's sheet is a compilation of exchange data rather than the exchange's own record, and on thinly traded counters a closing price can be a single small trade.
www.investiqoak.co.zw/ ↗Chamber of Mines
Industry bodySource for mining production and outlook surveys. Membership-based, and gold figures in particular understate output that leaves the country outside formal channels. Treated as a floor on production, not a total.

Feeds ZIX is seeking
Series ZIX wanted and could not source, and what would fill each gap.
| Series | Would come from | Obstacle |
|---|---|---|
| Parallel market rate (ZWG per USD) | ZIX | No verified public series exists. Parallel-market rates are quoted informally and vary by city, by trade size and by settlement method, so there is no single authoritative print to cite. ZIX will not publish an estimate of the most consequential number in the economy without a documented collection method behind it. |
| Manufacturing capacity utilisation | CZI | Published once a year inside the CZI Manufacturing Sector Survey, as a PDF report rather than a data feed. Using it requires either a data-sharing arrangement with CZI or a manual transcription process with its own documented method. |
| ZIDA-approved investment value | ZIDA | ZIDA reports approvals in periodic statements and press releases, not as a machine-readable series. Realised FDI is published by the World Bank and is charted on the investment page; approvals are not, and the two are never combined. |
| Gold delivered through formal channels | Chamber of Mines, RBZ | Delivery volumes are reported by Fidelity Printers and the Chamber of Mines in statements rather than as data. Zimbabwe also reports sparsely to UN Comtrade, so the usual mirror-statistics workaround does not close the gap either. |
| Lithium concentrate export value | Chamber of Mines | Requires commodity-level trade data. Zimbabwe's own submissions to UN Comtrade are incomplete, and the keyless preview endpoint returns only partial partner records, so no defensible total can be assembled from free sources. |
Organisations able to supply any of the above can contact ZIX. Any arrangement reached will be published here with its terms, including whether the supplier has any right of review. The answer to that last question will always be no.
